Don't Be So Sure

Don't be so sure that Bush and Rove ever expected to get the Harriet Miers nomination off the ground. I think she was a red herring, meant to soften up the process so Bush can appoint his TRUE choice.

The White House is banking on the everyone thinking that TeamBush is dumb.

Plus: Justice John Paul Stevens is 85 years old. He will be just short of 89 when Bush's term expires.

Three moderately conservative justices can be very effective on pushing the neo-con agenda.
Bush's primary concern will be the AGE of his appointee. Remember that Clarence Thomas was only 48 years old when he became an Associate Justice. He could possibly be on the Court for another 30 years.
